PPS supports Help for Heroes

If you are a regular reader of our blog, you will know that 2018 has been a year jam-packed full of events for PPS including lots of ‘extra-curricular’ activity.

We have had the pleasure of providing our services in support of some pretty spectacular sporting events these past 12 months and we love sharing all the details with you because we’re incredibly proud of being given the opportunity to get involved!

As you are reading this, PPS is in Sydney for this year’s Invictus Games where the Help For Heroes medical team will use PPS to help provide care for the athletes at this year’s events.

Having provided PPS assistance in 2017 for the Toronto games, we were raring to go when Help for Heroes approached us earlier this year requesting a reprise of their PPS services for the 2018 games.

In order to support the medical team and the athletes that they care for, we provide a fully hosted PPS system which allows the team to prepare in advance of the games in the UK and log back on with ease when they touch down in Australia.

Our PPS Hosted system is based entirely online, this means that all of the data is stored on our servers where the team can get access as and when they need it without the need to lug around specific laptops or PCs. An online solution gives the team totally limitless access across multiple devices and locations without compromising the security of their data!

In the run-up to the event, we’ve also spent some time with the team to make sure that PPS is fully loaded with all the details of this year’s athletes. The customisable profile section in the PPS client details screen allows the team to record data specific to them and their patients without having to compromise on the level of detail that they needed for each athlete. The ability to record as much information as possible will also mean that reporting on certain characteristics, conditions or any other attributes of the athletes will be a breeze!

When it comes to treatment, the team will be using PPS clinical notes which is part of every PPS package. They will have access to tools such as custom forms, image annotation, document attachment and more to ensure that they have all of the information that they need to provide top-notch care in a fast-paced environment. Capturing all of the essential data in PPS also means that the Help For Heroes team will have access to any information they might need for their post-games reports.

Jayne Kavanagh, of Help for Heroes and Team UK Chef de Mission, said: “Team UK have been working extremely hard for this moment and are ready to do the nation proud in Sydney. We are so very grateful to PPS for supporting Help for Heroes in providing the technology to allow our medical team to deliver a first class service to our Team UK athletes when they need it most. Achieving their goals knowing that partners like PPS are behind them provides an incredible springboard for the recovery journeys that will continue long after the Games have ended.”

This project has been a pleasure to work on and during the games this week, we’ll be backing Team UK in more ways than one!
